Modeler HelpThis area is intended for high level users who will extend the capabilities of EVA Netmodeler by adding new Meta Data - i.e. properties to existing types, relationships, or new types. To perform these activities, you will need the appropriate security permissions, especially the right to use the Type Browser. Care should be exercised in modifying meta data, since this will affect the behaviour of the types altered or added for all users of the tool. Great care should be exercised before changing or deleting existing structures, especially where there are items of the types affected already in the system. This section covers the following topics:
Modeling Concepts and TechniquesOne of the great things about EVA Netmodeler, is that modeling = development + testing + implementation. Once you have modeled something and captured that meta data in EVA Netmodeler, it is immediately usable by all authorised users. Quicker development than that you are unlikely to find! You can even develop concurrently and transparently while other users access the tool unaware of your activity until they see additional facilities! Several developers can operate in parallel. Suitable paradigms for developing your models include those of Entity Relationship concepts, Object Oriented Domain Modeling (e.g. UML Static Structure Diagrams) and Object Role Modeling (ORM). You may choose to draw rough models as diagrams before capture into EVA Netmodeler or, if you are an experienced modeler, capture your mentally developed models directly into the tool. You need a thorough grasp of the basic constructs and concepts available in the tool before you can effectively define your model. Concepts Discussion.
