Events Model

This section describes the model that underpins the EVA Netmodeler Events Feature. This feature allows a user to subscribe to events taking place on certain item types and to define actions to be performed whenever such an event takes place on a given item type.

The Events Model comprises the following types:

• Event Actions
• Event Subscriptions

Event Actions

Event Action is a type provided with EVA Netmodeler. It defines an action which is taken when an event of interest is triggered.

Event Actions can do various things, e.g.

• link current item to something
• create a new item
• send an email
• etc

Event Actions specify Action Keywords which determine what action is taken when the event occurs, e.g. for e-Mail pattern:

 "NT:ArchieUser;NI:Administrator;ATT:e-mail address"

Event Subscriptions

Event Subscriptions specify the node type and the event type that they subscribe to.

EVA Netmodeler keeps a log of all events that get triggered and their results. You can use the Event Log Browser to review the log.

The Event Structure Browser provides a convenient way of reviewing what events have been configured in a repository.
