Directory Access ModelA directory property allows exposing a directory on the server for web browsing. It is usually used where there are existing collections of files or documents that you want to make accessible to EVA Netmodeler users, without the need to upload these into the repository. It can also be used as a convenient way to include in the knowledge base directories which are designated for the placement of certain types of files, e.g. deliverables from a subcontractor. Contributors can then still place files in a directory with which they are familiar and need not have any knowledge of or access to EVA Netmodeler . These files will be immediately accessible to EVA Netmodeler users. EVA Netmodeler uses the directory property type to provide access to export files stored on the server. An example of the directory access screen presented in a browser is shown below: Most web servers require that content to be served is under a "web root" directory. EVA Netmodeler will move selected files to a temporary location under the required path to make it possible for files to be served. Related EVA Netmodeler facilities allow EVA Netmodeler to periodically clean up this location at a designated interval - see timed events. |
